Health Guarantee
Health Testing of Our Breeding Dogs
All of our breeding dogs undergo rigorous health testing before they are used for breeding. This includes:
OFA Testing: Our dogs are tested for hip and elbow dysplasia through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). We also perform OFA testing for eyes to check for any hereditary eye conditions.
DNA Testing: We use Embark DNA testing to screen for genetic conditions that are common in Labradors.
Health Guarantee Terms
Each puppy from Bellvale Labradors comes with a 24-month health guarantee. This guarantee covers life threatening hip/elbow dysplasia and heart disease up to 24 months.
Veterinary Requirements: To validate this guarantee, you must have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of taking them home. We recommend keeping up with regular veterinary check-ups and vaccinations as recommended by your vet to ensure the ongoing health of your puppy.
Spay/Neuter Policy: Our health guarantee is conditional upon following our spay/neuter policy. Puppies should not be altered before they are 18 months old, as early spaying or neutering may affect their growth and development. If the puppy is spayed or neutered before this age, the health guarantee becomes null and void.
Vaccines: If a rabies vaccine is given before 6 months of age, the contract for the Health guarantee will be null and void. Rabies vaccines cannot be given with any other vaccines.
Health Concerns Covered
Hip and Elbow Dysplasia: If your puppy is diagnosed with life threatening hereditary hip or elbow dysplasia within the first 26 months of life, Bellvale Labradors will either refund the purchase price or provide you with a replacement puppy from an upcoming litter. A second opinion from a board-certified orthopedic veterinarian is required for this claim.
Health Concerns Not Covered
Bellvale Labradors’ health guarantee does not cover issues related to injury, obesity, or preventable illnesses. It is important to maintain a healthy weight for your Labrador and provide regular veterinary care to ensure their long-term health.
Return Policy
If at any point you can no longer care for your Labrador, we ask that you contact us. We will gladly take the dog back and find them a new loving home. Please note that no refund will be provided in such cases, as our primary concern is ensuring that every Bellvale Labrador is placed in a safe and caring environment.
